My name is Alston Mitchell, and I am asking for your support in my efforts to raise money for college scholarships through
The Metroplex Beautillion.
About Alston Mitchell
Alston is the son of Albert and Wanda Mitchell.
Alston will be participating as a Beau in the 2025 DFW Metroplex Beautillion hosted by the Arlington- Grand Prairie Guide Right Foundation on April 27, 2025.
The Beautillion program provides black youth with mentoring, guidance, self-awareness, college preparation, leadership training, and scholarships.
Alston is a member of the Kappa League sponsored by the Mansfield-Cedar Hill (MAC) Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where he has held multiple leadership roles.
He is a member of the award-winning MAC Kappa League debate team and has participated in numerous community service activities over the past 7 years.
Alston is a senior at Lake Ridge High School in Mansfield, TX. He has excelled as an academic scholar, maintaining a 3.4 GPA.
As a Lake Ridge High School band member, Alston plays the trombone, where he made the
2024-2025 All-District Band.
Alston is also a member of the Arlington Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, where he has held leadership positions as Treasurer and Historian.
Alston will be attending The Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA., in the Fall of 2025. He has been awarded a scholarship to study Computer Engineering by the Southern Engineering Alumni Society (SEAS) of Southern University. He will be in the society’s 3rd cohort of this highly competitive and prestigious academic scholarship program.
He will also fulfill a lifelong dream to become a member of the Southern University Human Jukebox Marching Band as a Trombone player.
